How It All Started

Three visionaries, each with their own unique superpowers, came together to create GROW—a school where the focus is on languages and academics, but in a fun and engaging way.

The first, Alexine Haus, a seasoned educator with a wealth of experience and two teenage sidekicks of her own, is passionately preparing the next generation for the challenges of tomorrow.

The second, Bo Buysschaert, a creative businesswoman and mom, brings vibrant energy and a touch of magic to everything she does, thanks to her designer’s eye and flair for creativity.

The third, Omri Ben-Canaan, a devoted dad and island-based business leader (Kosong Satu Group & The Kedungu Fund), uses his strategic strength and organizational skills to ensure that GROW is a place where children thrive and enjoy every moment.

Together, they are building a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where kids can reach their full potential while having a blast. As construction continues, our excitement builds—we can’t wait to welcome students on their first day and see GROW come to life!

Our Mission

We all know that education is not only based on academic success but also a pathway to personal fulfillment. At GROW we equally want to emphasize the importance of mastering the basic academic knowledge so our children can understand the society and the world they live in. Therefore our mission is to provide each learner with high-quality education provided by highly qualified teachers.

Our Vision

At Grow in Kedungu, our vision is to be a beacon of excellence in education, where young children embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery, growth, and lifelong love for learning. We aspire to nurture compassionate, independent, and empowered individuals who embrace diversity, cultivate their unique talents and positively impact their communities in the world.

"Our teachers are
our strength!"

We continuously re-assess which are the skills and tools our kids need to be as successful as they can be in their future lives, capable of understanding the rapidly changing globalized world. In our school we work with highly qualified expat homeroom teachers.

The core elements of our vision are:

Lifelong and joyful learning

our learning center is a place where the joy of learning is palpable. We believe in igniting passion for knowledge that stays with our students throughout their lives.

Independent and child-centered education

where each child is at the heart of their educational journey. Our classrooms are a place of wonder where children’s innate curiosity and creativity are celebrated. We empower them to become confident, self-motivated learners, capable to solve problems and become active participants in their own education.

Holistic development

GROW forsters the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of its students, ensuring they grow into well-rounded individuals.

Our spacious playground offers a variety of play equipment, including slides, swings, and climbing structures, where students can engage in active play and socialize with their peers. We also have a small vegetable garden and animal farm, where children can enjoy hands-on learning about nature, sustainability, and caring for living things—nurturing both curiosity and responsibility through real-life experiences.

school bus

We’re excited to launch our new school bus service, offering safe and reliable transportation for our students across carefully planned routes.

Clear communication is key—we’ll keep you updated on routes, schedules, and changes, and we welcome your feedback to ensure the best experience.

At GROW, even the journey matters. Our “Educational GROW Bus” includes a dedicated teaching assistant and teacher-led activities like storytelling, music, and nature spotting. Each ride becomes a fun, enriching experience that supports our mission to learn and play along the way.

Outdoor and Sports

The PE court is a dedicated space for sports and physical education classes, featuring high-quality sports surfaces and equipment for various sports activities, during school as well as after school. More info about ASA’s and evening events for parents coming soon.

Canteen and Bakery

Announcing our school canteen, where we take pride in delivering healthy, nutritious meals that change daily to keep the kids taste buds excited. Each dish is carefully prepared and reviewed by a nutritionist to ensure it meets the highest standards of health and wellness.

We also invite you to stop by our cozy little bakery at the front of the school. While it’s not a sit-down café, it’s a charming take-away spot where parents can grab a fresh pastry or coffee on the go. Whether you're waiting at pickup or just passing by, it’s a lovely way to enjoy a quick treat and feel part of our school community
